BIRDING

Great viewing options await birders in the Ponte Vedra community. Birds of many species appear along the shore, in the marshes and along the broad expanses of the area’s waterways.

Dedicated to the diversity of wildlife in our community, Bird Island Park is an oasis off busy A1A behind the Ponte Vedra Beach Library.

Infrastructure installed for beachgoers to safely traverse the natural sand dunes allow birders a viewing vantage.

Visit the GTM Research Reserve to treat yourself to a special sight of an eagle’s nest. The Reserve is conserving natural biodiversity and cultural resources and is eager to share treasures like the Eagle’s Nest to the public.

While the lake always attracts an array of birds, during its low water season an even greater mix of birds are attracted looking for food.

A great viewing option, there are two towers located within the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) adjacent to the Guana Tolomato Matanzas Research Reserve.
